we eat tinned food and enjoy it
every morsel sits like caviar on tongue
I imagine you but maybe you aren’t even there
I am imagining my own torso
the weight of myself falling towards the river for inspection
of my body and the body of the pebble the pebble
I am here for 30 years to witness get smooth
the task is to quiet everyone inside ourselves
we prod it with a stick
we let ourselves laugh about it
we are here to watch time pass
we are here to try to feel nothing
we hold sand in our fists
I am here all alone
